I’m beyond excited to spill the deets on the unforgettable experience we had last week with the incredible CEO, Arthur Moye III, at UC Merced! 🎉 Hosted by my fellow Chef Anthony Pangelina and yours truly, it was more than just an event – it was a heart-to-heart about the rollercoaster ride of the craft beer world, especially as part of the 1% of black-owned breweries in the USA.
Arthur dished out the real talk on the challenges faced as a person of color in the craft beer biz and spilled the beans on how he’s making the industry more inclusive. Once of the projects he has taken on is staring the National Black Brewer’s Association.
The National Black Brewers Association (“NB2A”) was formed as a 501c6 membership-based non-profit organization to:
- Promote the Black brewing community as a first-of-its kind organization;
- Increase the number of African Americans in the brewing industry at all levels of production, especially ownership and brewmaster;
- Exercise political influence by developing and advocating for effective policy; and
- Foster understanding about the history and legacy of African American brewing in the United States.
Oh, and did we mention the big news? Full Circle Brewing recently snagged Speakeasy Lagers! 🚀 Imagine the fusion of Full Circle’s faves with Speakeasy’s classic brews – it’s a match made in beer heaven. 🍺Speakeasy was the second longest running brewery in San Francisco, after Anchor Steam. And for all you foodies out there, we made my dream come true with a “Cooking with Beer” event during the networking reception. The Vanilla Illa IPA pudding stole the show, and the Tostada and Nacho Bar with Blond Ale-infused Nacho Cheese sauce and Braised Beef with Peachy Vibes and Chipotle left everyone coming back for seconds and thirds! I highly recommend visiting Full Circle Brewing’s taproom in Downtown Fresno! Here’s a link to their website!
